"Thriller"

Last Friday night, Leslie, Lacey and myself went to the production of "Thriller" at Tuacahn. It was quite a production. They had some wonderful numbers and some fantastic optical illusions. The weather was perfect. There was a slight breeze, but all you needed was a hoodie. The place was packed with zombies. There was some great costumes and the zombies were great. They would sneak up on you and about scare you to death. Lacey and I have decided that we need to go next year. We thought the weekend after the deer hunt would be perfect. Next year, we are going to go earlier and check out some of the other attractions associated with Tuacahn. So everyone mark your calendars.
Sorry I didn't get any pictures. However, Lacey got a couple. I just about got her kicked out because I wanted her to take a picture of the skeletons. The minute she pulled out her camera, the staff told her, "No photography." You should have seen the cellphone cameras being used.
We just wasn't sneaky enough. Oh well, it was fun. I'm looking forward to next year.

Twitchell Family Reunion

On September 19th, the Twitchell family got together for a family reunion. We met at the park in Antimony. We had beautiful weather. There was only five members of the family that wasn't able to be there. It was fun to visit with everyone.

ATV World Record

Leaving our Mark on the World!
It's amazing what we just experienced in little Ole' Sevier county. This evening at 6:30 p.m. they had an ATV parade to see if they could beat the world record. They needed over 2000 bikes and I'm betting that they bet that record by 2000. I have never seen so many bikes together in one place and for one cause. I think we made a statement: That we can do anything if we put our minds to it." I'm really hoping that the Sierra Club and all the other environmentalist were watching. They keep trying to close our trails. Now I wish that I had gone and rode in the ride on Capitol Hill to protest the government closing the trails that we love.

It was a neat experience.

If you can see the water tower in the background, the bikes were clear up to it. That was only one of the roads. They had three other roads and they are lead to the parade. It took us an hour to go through the parade and they was just as many people still waiting. Jerry's and Logan's number was in the 800's.

As the diesels would pass on the freeway, they would honk. It was very patriotic. I was wishing that I had put a nice American flag on my bike like many of the riders did. We recognized flags from New Mexico. It would be fun to know where everyone came from.

A few of these pictures out of order, because I thought they were already on my blog. Anyway, our Family took a little trip to Duckcreek, Village, Utah, to spend a little bit of time together. We left on Friday, September 11. We stayed for two days and wished it could have been longer. I rented a cabin for the family. That is something that I have always wanted to do. It was a beautiful cabin on-line and even better when we were able to see it. There are a ton of things to do at Duckcreek, but mainly, we just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. The pictures don't do the cabin justice. The cabin sat on a ledge overlooking the Duckcreek Village. The cabin was three stories. The top floor was actually the owner's suite, which was off-limiits. The rest of the house was ours. There were four bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The only thing that would have been better would have been a hot tub. I'm actually on a hot tub kick these days. All of the appliances were made by top-of-line Viking. The decor was beautiful. The owners of this cabin live in Las Vegas. The owner is a business man and they really don't spend that much time at their cabin. If I owned it, I would be there whenever I could. So everywhere in Duckcreek Village, there are cabins for sale. I was drooling over some of them. The prices were unbelievable. I told my mom when she wins the lottery she could buy a cabin for all of us to share. Lacey and I were thinking we could all pitch in and buy a cabin. We could rent it out during the week and holidays. Shouldn't that make the payment? Of course, we would make our rates affordable for families. It's so fun to dream. Thanks Lyndsay and Dusten, Landon, Lacey, Jayleigh, and Logan for such a fun experience and memory!!!

On the way home from our trip I was thinking of where I would like to go next. I'm pretty sure that we will be going back to Duckcreek Village next summer, but in our trailer house.

Palisades Family Get-together

Jayleigh has quite the personality. I love how she treats her pacifier like a toy. She puts in backwards and sideways into her mouth. Landon and Lacey have to give her one pacifer to play with and the other one to suck.The gangs all here. Landon, Lacey, Logan, and Lyndsay at dock.

Lyndsay and Dusten rented a paddle boat. After they were gone for about 45 minutes, I got a phone call from Lyndsay to bring some water to the bank because they were thirsty and hot. I think they got a little bit of a workout. I remember the last time I was in one of the paddle boats and ended up with very tired legs. I opted out this time.

Last weekend, August 14-16th, our family went to Palisades for the weekend. Jerry and I arrived about 4:00 p.m. Shortly afterwards, Landon, Lacey, and Jayleigh arrived. That evening, we invited Lacey's parents and grandmother for dinner. It was fun to visit with them.

Lyndsay and Dusten were able to come up Friday night. Our campground was nice and it wasn't too crowded. All of our family was able to be together on Saturday. Landon, Lyndsay, Logan, and Lacey went out on the paddle boats for a couple of hours.

Sunday morning, I tried out a Mountain Man breakfast. It wasn't too bad. We loaded up and headed home about noon. It was a fun trip. Besides the wind blowing a little bit, it was good.

Our next trip together is in September to Duck Creek Resort.

Kistie wanted to get on my lap, so I let her and Jayleigh had lots of fun pulling her hair. I think our dogs are way jealous of Jayleigh.
When Landon and Lacey got here Friday night, we got such a kick out of Jayleigh's ponytails. We had to have a picture. Lyndsay hated ponytails when she was a baby, so she very seldom had them.

I thought this was so cute of Jayleigh trying to crawl. Those arms and feet are always moving.

Just another short video of Jayleigh on her tummy. As you can tell we are thrilled to have a grand-daughter. You are going to see lots and lots of pictures of her. The rest of us are pretty boring.

Update on the Twitchell Family

I thought I should at least give a brief update. I decided to paint my frontroom. It actually looks pretty good. I thought when I got done with that task they would have to carry me away on a stretcher, but I survived.
My mom, my sister, Tanya and her boys went to the temple openhouse in Salt Lake. I was surprised with how modern the temple was. I think I'm still partial to Manti and St. George. It was a beautiful temple. If you can believe it, Mom walked all of the steps from the basement to the top floor. She did a great job for having her knee replaced a few months ago.
We counted 56 stairs plus. Temples are such a blessing in our lives. I know I need to do better, especially since the temple is only an hour away.
On the 24th, we attended the Monroe celebration. Lacey and Landon were able to attend this year. That afternoon ,we had a BBQ. Later in the evening, Lacey and Landon, Logan and Katie, Jerry and myself went to Salina and watched the burn-out. It was interesting. I saw a few of my old classmates and decided that I'm aging as well as they are. To tell you the truth, this aging thing is really getting to me. I hate the wrinkles and thin skin. The spare tire around the middle isn't that great either. Jerry has decided that it is just hard work to lose weight. We even brought us some bikes to be more physically active.
A couple of weeks ago, Landon and Lacey decided that they wanted to make Lacey's parents a quilt for their 30th anniversary. We decided to make a picture quilt. Thankfully, Lacey and Landon were able to get the pictures transferred, so the rest was easy. The quilt was finished for Saturday the 25th. It was a surprise party. I was totally impressed how quiet everyone kept about the party. It was fun.
Well, three weeks until I'm back in school and I'm not exactly sure want I have accomplished. Now that the push is on, I'm finally doing something. One thing I did get done was completing the temple work for two of my aunts to be sealed to my grandparents. We are going to the temple on the 21st of August to finish the sealings. Mom will be doing a live sealing for herself.
I've been thinking a lot about our pioneer heritage and I am truly grateful that I'm living at this time. I know I couldn't have walked across the plains. I would have complained all of the way. How grateful I am for my ancestors and the memories that I have of them.

Fishing at Boxcreek Reservoir

On Saturday, after the Brown reunion, we decided to go fishing at Boxcreek reservoir. Jerry, Wayde, and I rode the four-wheelers while the rest of the gang drove. We had so much fun.
We took Uncle Heartly with us. He hadn't really gone fishing at Boxcreek since my dad had died.

We got such a kick out of Heartly. He thought he had caught a big fish and when he finally got it reeled in it was a big stick. We sure did have a good laugh.
