More Pictures of San Rafael

This is my cousin, Vicki. She's the one that plans all of the trips that we go on.

I decided to add some more pictures of San Rafael. It was such a pretty place, if only the wind had quit blowing. As a side note, on Wednesday, my leg decided to get the same pain that I had during Easter break. I told myself I wasn't going to be a dud, so I endured the ride with a few moans, groans, and a couple of pain pills. I was hoping that when I got off the ride my pain would be gone, especially since I was being jarred around. Unfortunately, I still have the pain today.

As you can tell this area is full of deep canyons. The trail takes you along the edge of the canyon.

Jerry and I decided to go camping with my cousins and friends to San Rafael this weekend. We were hoping for great weather. When we arrived on Friday, the weather was beautiful. We had potluck dinner and sat around the campfire until about midnight. The next day we went on a ride around San Rafael. The weather was beautiful. The trail that we rode was the same trail as the poker run that the riding club has every year. We saw some beautiful scenery. Believe me, my pictures doesn't do it justice. About an hour before the trip was over the wind decided to pick up and it never quit. Talk about dust!! We were covered and everything else around us. We all huddled in our trailers and motorhomes last night. We did make the rounds and visited everyone in their trailers or motorhomes. Bright and early this morning, everyone headed home. Jerry and I had to fight the wind all the way home. We were the truck pulling the trailer that couldn't get above 50 mph. It took us quite a while to get home. When we got home the wind was blowing and had been blowing all weekend.

Making Mud Pies at San Rafael

These are pictures of my cousin, Vicki, showing Makayla and Madie how to make mud pies. The dirt was perfect for making them. Makayla and Madie had never made mud pies before. It was kind of funny to watch Vicki make them. While she was making them, her nephew Ben was observing and he made a remark about how cool that was. He said he had never made mud pies before.
