The campground had a pool, general store, laundry room, game room. It was very well-maintained. If only it had some grass, I would have been in heaven. They even had wireless internet and cable TV.

Windmills outside of Rock Springs, Wyoming. They are everywhere. Jerry and I actually wondered how much power they do generate.

We began our journey on July 10, 2010. Our first day was to travel to Rock Springs, Wyoming, and spend the night at the KOA campground. That first day was quite the experience. We filled the truck up outside of Park City and just about died of shock. Our truck was getting 9 mpg. That definitely made us realize that our gas budget wasn't going to work. We decided what the heck! We were going to make the best of our trip even though the gas budget was going to go over what we had planned. If we got short on money, we would just call Logan and he could go get some money out of our savings. While on the way to Rock Springs, we pulled off in a small town called Fort Bridger. It was fun to see such a small town. On the way to Rock Springs is a town called Green River, Wyoming. This town is a hub for the railroad. All you see and hear are trains. The trains travel in all directions, and most of the carts are carrying coal. Traveling to Rock Springs just seemed like a climb the whole way there. Most of my pictures were taken out of the front window of the truck. We had overcast skies the whole way there. We didn't even have to use our air-conditioning. We had a cooler in the back seat loaded with water and drinks, and we had plenty of snacks to munch on. By the way, we just trucked along just like senior citizens. People passed us and we just traveled forward. We figured they could pass us if they were in such a hurry. We arrived in Rock Springs about 3 p.m. The campground was nice, however, it didn't have one speck of grass. I was imagining a campground with grass, so that Jerry and I could sit back and relax. It was a nice campground over all. There was plenty of room between the campsites. Jerry and I sat in the front of trailer and dreamed of our motorhome. After all, we were the little guys in the campground. I'm not sure where those people get all of their money, but it certainly isn't in education in Utah.

The skies had cloud cover most of the day. We spent most of the evening just relaxing in the front of our trailer. An early night, so that we could head to Cody, Wyoming the next day.

Big Box

When Landon and Logan were little boys, they just loved to play in boxes. One time, my parents had a huge refrigerator box. Landon and Logan decided to have a sleepover in the box. They put sleeping bags in it and spent the night. I couldn't believe how that box kept them so entertained. The other day, when Landon and lacey were up, I had a big Tupperware box, so I put Jayleigh in it. I got the cutest picture of her.

Fishlake FishingTrip

On Saturday, June 5, 2010, we went fishing to Fishlake. We fished in the willows past Bowery Haven. Landon, Lacey, Jayleigh, and her parents went with us. Curt and Becky came from Manti, to spend the evening fishing with us. We arrived around 6 p.m. and caught a few perch.
We roasted hotdogs and had a few salads. That was fun. I can't remember the last time I roasted hotdogs over a campfire. I can't believe that I forgot the marshmallows. Logan was prepared this trip with firewood, which made it so nice and enjoyable. It was a calm evening and the temperature was almost perfect.
We were actually waiting for the bigger fish to come in and feed. Around 7:30 p.m. they started hitting our lines. I don't fish, so I kept an eye on Jayleigh. Jayleigh was amazing. She never fussed at all. She sat in her stroller and entertained herself with glow sticks. What a trooper!
Logan out fished everyone. I think everyone caught a big fish. I don't remember Curt bringing in one, but he did help Becky take one off of her line. Landon was the last to be successful.
Overall, we had a great time. We stayed until 11:00 p.m and headed home.

Casto Canyon ATV Ride

Jerry and I decided that rather than sit around on his days off that we needed to do something. I had heard about this ATv ride over seven years ago. We had passed the turnoff several times but never gone there. So this past Friday, we decided to take a ride. A new adventure for us. Everything I had read said that the roads were well-marked. They had signs, however they had been shot up. We invited a few of Jerry's family members but only Lawrence and Taylor were able to go with us. We meet up with them at 9:30 a.m. that morning outside of Panguitch.
Of course, I had to have my senior moment. We stopped in Junction, so that I could purchase a bag of ice. I just sat it in the back of the truck. When we got to Panguitch, I went to put the ice in our cooler and no cooler. I had left it home on the freezer with our water, drinks, and lunch. So we stopped in Panguitch and picked up a styrofoam cooler, bought drinks and snacks. We unloaded our bikes and headed out. It was so fun. It was such a beautiful drive. We had all kinds of terrains. Our trip was around 40 miles long and took us around five hours. We stopped several times to check out the scenery.



These mountains were amazing. Who would ever have thought that mountains like this existed outside of Bryce Canyon.

This area is called Limekiln Canyon. There is limestone everywhere and it looks green. This area was very hot and very few places for shade.

Casto Canyon. There are hoodoos (the red rock formations) for the first 7 miles. I loved this area the best. I thought we would come back this way, so I didn't take very many pictures.
As it so happened, the trail looped a different way.
My advice to those wanting to take this trip. Be sure to have a well-labeled map. The Casto Canyon trail connects with Fremont ATV trail, so you could have gone for miles on the wrong road. I got a kick out of Lawrence, everytime we stopped he would say, "Well, let's go for 4 or 5 miles and see what happens." It was definitely fun to have Lawrence and Taylor with us while we were temporarily displaced. We had a lot of fun and looking to find another trail to take an adventure on this summer.
Next time, we will have the sunscreen with us. I'm still feeling the heat from that adventure.

Sand Dunes

On April 9-11th, our family traveled to the sand dunes for the weekend. This is a quick picture of Lyndsay, Landon, and Jayleigh in the buggy. We are training her right.

Logan's graduation

On April 30, 2010, Logan graduated from Snow College with an Associate of Applied Science. He has a degree in machine tool technology and is certified. You would think that opens the doors, however, they still want people with experience. We are hoping that something will work out for him in Phoenix. He is going to need the job.
Logan will be headed to school in just a few weeks. It's a little scary, but hopefully, he will find some friends. I'm grateful that my nephew and his wife are living in Phoenix. He will probably be visiting them quite often.

Easter 2010

On Saturday, Lacey and Jayeigh went to Manti to spend time with her family. Landon, Jerry and myself went to the sand dunes. We met up with Logan. He went up the night before and stayed with friends. We headed over to Sand Mountain to see what was going on. I think the new fees really had an effect on the dunes this year. Later, in the afternoon we went on a ride to the Oasis. It was fun. The wind wasn't blowing, but it was kind of cold. I was quite worried about Landon overdoing it especailly since he is recovering form being sick. He did pretty good.

On Sunday, we had a little Easter egg hunt in our dining room for Jayleigh. She was so cute as she opened the eggs. She had a real fun time with the hard boiled eggs. The Easter bunny brought her some new white sandals. She loves them. She had the cutest Elmo basket and Easter eggs. What a character. She also got a small Elmo that talks. It was a fun day with Jayleigh. I'm so glad that Landon and Lacey are so good to share Jayeigh with us.

The girls were baptized on March 13, 2010, in Kearns.

Phoenix Trip

Logan and I took a trip to Phoenix, Arizona, in March. We went on a tour of the school and checked out areas to move to. We had quite a trip. It just happened to be the rainiest weekend of the whole season. The roads were just flooded. On the way home, it started to rain and snow. About 10 minutes outside of Kingman, Arizona, we were stalled for nearly an hour. There were several accidents. Our family lived in Kingman, Arizona, for two years and I never saw more than 1 inch of snow. We were really blessed on this trip. We had a great time, despite my hope for sunshine.

On the way down, we stopped in Kingman, Arizona, to see how much it had changed in 17 years. It's absolutely amazing. It used to be a little dumpy town. It has progressed with all knids of new businesses, hospitals, and schools. We drove by my old school, and it still looked the same. I will always have fond memories of that school.

The pictures of Hoover Dam were taken on our way back. This area is totally amazing. Unless you have driven through this area, it's hard to appreciate the magnitide of this project. My kids and I drove this road every other weekend. If we didn't drive than Jerry did. There is 20 miles of construction involved in this project. Truly amazing. I will be taking another trip when this trip is finished. Of course, with Logan moving to Phoenix this fall, I'm sure we will see more of this project.

We grew up together in Aurora. Gloria lives in Las Vegas and is good friends with my brother and his wife. It's a small world.

We played a dollar bill game. We passed around a dollar bill until the music stopped. The person that ended up with the bill passed to the left. The person with the dollar bill had to choose someone to join them in the centert of the floor. Once they got out there, they ended up giving each other a massage. It was so funny.

The date is all wrong on my pictures. I had to change the battery and forgot to change the date. Anyway, we attended Waylon and Ashley's wedding in Las Vegas on January 16, 2010. It was such a fun wedding. They had the ceremony and then directly afterwards, they had a really nice dinner. The food was great. They also had a DJ that did different activities with the guests. It was one of the most fun weddings I have been too.

I still love the receiving line, but for something a little different for just families and friends, this is a fun way to do it.

I was so glad that we were able to go.
