Mom's Retirement

Well, Mom is officially retired. January 31, 2008, was her last day to work. These pictures are of a surprise party that was held for her. She hates things like this, so the school had to be real sneaky. She was totally surprised. The lunch ladies made a money tree and they had one and five dollar bills attached. It was so clever and cute. They also gave her $50.00 and a gift certificate to Christensen's. They served cake and shared some of Mom's funny memories. She has plenty. She was just happy that none of the worst memories were shared. I took more pictures, but they didn't look too good. These were the only ones that I could salvage. All of the staff from Ashman Elementary was present. I thought that was so nice of them. I have been sewing together quilts to keep mom busy. I really think Mom has plenty of things to do at home. She has three new puppies that are keeping her busy. I will try to get some cute pictures of them tomorrow and post. Mom thought that Landon and Lacey would want one of her puppies, but they can't have them in their apartment. So we are still looking for new parents.

What a great day for your mom--and what a tribute to her. I hope she truly enjoys her retirement. She deserves it.
